Time,Space and Action, are the Aristotelean threesome;prescribed for the writer to come to grips with the classical conventions of drama. How much of this is required fp\or the screen writer, however, depends on dexterity ofthat writer. While it is pertinent for one toensure the unity of time, place and action,it has been discovered that, the parochial limitation of events in a drama to a day and locale,is grossly inadequate, even for the Theatre. These factors in a screenplay, are conversely united and not compulsorily so.This is because FILM as a technological medium, lends itself to a wider range of resources, of which the Theatre can not boast. The converse unity of time, place and action,is a principle which the screen writer must know, if writing his SCENARIO, will avoid the Aristotelean restrictions and explore the roburst possibilities for FILM.The screenplay keeps atab on time, space and action, no doubt but, for the sake of CONTINUITY.In other words, while the Playwright aims at the unity of these factors, the screen writer aims at their VIRTUAL CONTINUITY.Writing th SCENARIO of your screenplay must employ the above understanding. The information that you gathered on the theme and your CHARACTER PROFILE,must be used to plot the action within the framework of the SYNOPSIS,SPACE,TIME AND CHARACTERISATION.
